Statistics, Scientific Method and Systems thinking – Student Workshops
Enthuse – Engage – Educate
All sessions:
- Delivered by Dr Peter Howley – Professor of Statistics, ACARA Curriculum Officer, Statistical Consultant, STEM practitioner, Science and Technology Australia STEM Ambassador, and award-winning educator – WWC1321887E
- Emphasis is on application, authentic learning and conceptual understanding within an education model of Enthuse – Engage – Educate
- Optional interactive online 1-hour or (abridged to fit within a school
period) 40-minute sessions (F2F available in Newcastle, NSW)
- Flexible delivery times nationally

The following is for Science Extension and similar Senior Secondary syllabi where
statistics and scientific research are required (or Junior Secondary students desiring
deeper learning).

Package A – All 10 sessions (discounted rates)
- $16.50^^ per student per 40-minute session (total $165 incl gst per student for all 10 40-minute sessions)
- $18^^ per student per 1-hour session (total $180 incl gst per student for all 10 1-hour sessions)
Package B - Any 6 of the 10 sessions^^ (tailored sessions are possible: combining
parts of multiple sessions**) – or you may like this example set of 6 sessions
for Seniors/Science Extension. The following discounted rates also apply for any group
bookings of 25 or more:
- $18 per student per 40-minute session (total $108 incl gst per student for the six 40-minute sessions)
- $20 per student per 1-hour session (total $120 incl gst per student for the six 1-hour sessions)
Package C – Any 1, 2 or 3 of the 10 sessions (tailored sessions are possible:
combining parts of multiple sessions**)
** For example:
- confidence intervals may be less important, allowing the combining of Sessions 5 & 6
- students may be familiar with hypothesis testing, allowing the combining of Sessions 5, 6 & 7 and focussing on use of free statistical software

group (we can join your students with others to form an audience of 20 if needed)
